I was invited to launch The Tale of Yaya during an inauguration ceremony at Olgapuri Children’s Home last October. Friends, staff, children, and supporters of Nepal Youth Foundation gathered to inaugurate the statue of the woman who had raised me as though I was her own granddaughter.
Olga Mamu (Yaya) had passed away 8 months earlier. It made sense to launch the book I had written as a tribute to her on the day her statue was inaugurated. Olga Mamu always made sure to give me the world and more; the least I could do was speak about the person she forever will be, whether that be in writing or in the talk I gave that day.
